The U-tube is mainly used to replace the core of the U-tube heat exchanger. Due to the structural limitation of the U tube heat exchanger, it is easy to block and difficult to clean at the U-shaped corner. If some of the tubes in a set of U-shaped tube bundles are blocked, the heat exchange tube can be sealed to ensure that the remaining tubes can continue to be used. However, if multiple heat exchange tubes are blocked, the heat exchange efficiency of the entire heat exchanger will be greatly reduced, and the original heat exchange function cannot be reached. In this way, it is required to be replaced.

What is U Tube Heat Exchanger?

U tube heat exchanger refers to a shell-and-tube heat exchanger in which the tube bundle is composed of U-shaped tubes with different radius and both ends of the tubes are fixed on the same tube sheet. Since each U-shaped tube can be freely stretched, there will be no temperature differential stress between the tube bundle and the shell. So it has less risk of leackage on the welding parts. Baffles, longitudinal partitions, etc. are arranged in the shell side. The baffles are fixed by tie rods. The longitudinal baffle is a rectangular flat plate installed parallel to the heat transfer tube to increase the flow rate of the medium on the shell side.

Advantage of U Tube Heat Exchanger:

There are 3 types of shell and tube heat exchanger. The easiest one is Fixed Tube Heat Exchanger. It has simple structure and low technical requirements, but it can not stand high temperature difference for shell side and tube side.
